The community outreach and education program is committed to increasing awareness about domestic violence within Asian communities, the impact of it on families and loved ones, and victim services and resources available in the Central Texas area.
Some of the ways we increase awareness is by providing presentations to organizations and businesses on things like Cultural Competency, boothing at community events like health fairs, working with policymakers, and constantly thinking of ways to meaningfully connect with the many Asian communities in the Austin area. If you or your organization would like to collaborate with SAHELI, please contact us.

Currently, we are actively promoting our latest awareness campaign, "There is Always a Helping Hand", through a grant from the Office for Victims of Crime, Office of Justice Programs, and the U.S. Department of Justice. The main goal of this campaign is to increase access to available resources for Asian crime victims in the Central Texas area, such as to resources regarding domestic violence, immigration, and medical assistance. We have created various outreach materials to accomplish this goal, such as calendars, grocery and tote bags, and fortune cookies, to name a few. If you are interested in receiving these materials or in distributing them within your communities, please contact the Community Liaison at saheli@saheli-austin.org, or at
