SAHELI is seeking on-call Language Access Program Advocates to conduct community outreach and provide crisis management, advocacy, and peer support to domestic violence survivors. The Advocate is an empathetic individual with excellent communication skills, understands domestic violence issues, immigrant concerns and is perceptive to client’s needs. The Advocate is engaged with their specific community, appreciates Asian family and community dynamics and can communicate sensitive information in a culturally appropriate manner.
Candidates must be bilingual in English and at least one of the following languages: Mandarin, Cantonese, Vietnamese, Japanese and Karenni.
This is an on-call position where hours worked are based on need. Advocates are required to attend regularly scheduled paid trainings. $14.25/hour. US work permit is required. SAHELI – Asian Family Support Services of Austin is currently seeking a professional, organized, and compassionate individual to help empower our clients to become self suficient.
The Resource Advocate will be responsible working with clients, mostly immigrant domestic violence and/or sexual assault victims on issues of self-sufficiency and economic empowerment after all immediate crisis needs are met. The services should be aimed at the broader goal of helping the victim and the victim’s family lead a safe, healthy, independent, and abuse-free life with supportive and culture-sensitive advocacy and support. The Resource Advocate reports to the Direct Service Manager.
Qualified applicants should have a bachelor’s degree in social work, adult education or in a closely related human services field; relevant experience of at least two years may be substituted for education. Applicant must have own transportation.

SAHELI for Asian Families is currently seeking an adaptable individual with strong entepreneurial and interpersonal skills to provide administrative and strategic support for SAHELI’s fundraising program.
The Development Coordinator will provide administrative and strategic support for SAHELI’s fundraising program. He or she reports directly to and works closely with the Executive Director in implementing a successful development plan. The job includes fund development, strategic donor cultivation, donor information management, and manage special events. Applicant should displayexcellent interpersonal skills and collaborative approach to working with a wide range of people both inside and outside of the organization. The Development Coordinator must work well under pressure, make timely and consistent decisions, set time lines and prioritize. Must show an entrepreneurial attitude and creative thinking with high degree of professionalism.
