Language Access Program Advocate

SAHELI is seeking on-call Language Access Program Advocates to conduct community outreach and provide crisis management, advocacy, and peer support to domestic violence survivors.  The Advocate is an empathetic individual with excellent communication skills, understands domestic violence issues, immigrant concerns and is perceptive to client’s needs.  The Advocate is engaged with their specific community, appreciates Asian family and community dynamics and can communicate sensitive information in a culturally appropriate manner.
 
Candidates must be bilingual in English and at least one of the following languages:  Thai, Laotian, Japanese.
This is an on-call position where hours worked is based on need.  Advocates are required to attend regularly scheduled paid trainings.  $14.25/hour US work permit is required.
