Cinema Truth: Our goal with this film series is to educate people about Asian/Asian American issues of domestic violence/survivors, show Asian/Asian American females in positive roles, gender issues/cultural issues regarding gender roles (i.e. emphasis on culture, religion, etc), sexual assault, and other forms of violence against women.

Holly: Set in Cambodia, depicts child prostitution through the non-sexual, complex relationship between Holly, a beautiful 12-year-old Vietnamese girl, and Patrick, a 40-year-old American stolen artifacts dealer.

Saving Face: Directed by Alice Wu, Saving Face (2004) is a romantic dramatic comedy is about a Chinese-American lesbian and her traditionalist mother who are reluctant to go public with secret loves that clash against cultural expectations. Our goal with this film series is to educate people about Asian/Asian American issues of domestic violence/survivors, show Asian/Asian American females in positive roles, gender issues/cultural issues regarding gender roles (i.e. emphasis on culture, religion, etc), sexual assault, and other forms of violence against women.

The Grace Lee Project : When Korean American filmmaker Grace Lee was growing up in Missouri, she was the only Grace Lee she knew. Once she left the Midwest however, everyone she met seemed to know "another Grace Lee." But why did they assume that all Grace Lees were reserved, dutiful, piano-playing overachievers? The filmmaker plunges into a funny, highly unscientific investigation into all those Grace Lees who break the mold -- from a fiery social activist to a rebel who tried to burn down her high school. With wit and charm, THE GRACE LEE PROJECT puts a hilarious spin on the eternal question, "What's in a name?" Our goal with this film series is to educate people about Asian/Asian American issues of domestic violence/survivors, show Asian/Asian American females in positive roles, gender issues/cultural issues regarding gender roles (i.e. emphasis on culture, religion, etc), sexual assault, and other forms of violence against women.
